About Us
Our Philosophy
We practice from a Christian perspective. We believe God created life and He forms each baby from conception. Therefore, we believe birth is not an illness or a condition, but an amazing, wonderful, exciting event that is normal, natural and healthy. We believe pregnancy, labor and birth have a profound effect on women and their families and that it is an experience that is never forgotten. We believe women’s confidence and ability to birth are either enhanced or diminished by those who care for her and where she births. We believe education empowers women to make informed choices in health care, to assume responsibility for their health and their trust in the Lord. Birth is different for each individual woman. Birth is a miracle, but not a medical miracle. What might be normal for one may not be normal for the other. Finally, we believe that each woman has a God-given ability to find her own way to birth through His divine strength.

Amber Zimmer, APRN, MSN, CNM, CLC
OWNER/NURSE MIDWIFE
With over a decade of experience, Amber holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Wyoming.
My personal journey started out with little to no information on midwives. A nurse-midwife in town graciously invited me to be a part of one of her client’s home birth experiences from prenatal visits to the birth and postpartum. It was at this very first birth that I fell in love with midwifery. I saw the caring, wise, loving attitude the nurse-midwife held and I saw the beauty of natural home birth. The connection between the mother and her child was not of this world. I wanted to be a part of that moment for other mothers and help them make decisions for themselves.
I continued to attend home births for a year and a half as an assistant/nurse and then I went back to school for my master’s degree of science in nursing with a specialty in midwifery. I graduated from Frontier Nursing University at the end of 2016 after being a part of more than 100 deliveries in hospital and home. My practicum was at Denver Health in Denver, Colorado and with a rural practice in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
I have also experienced a hospital and home birth. My oldest daughter was born vaginally in a breech position in Colorado, and my youngest daughter was born at home. Both experiences were very valuable in helping me to empathize with my clients.
